THE STORY
I'm Will - a filmmaker based in Queensland AU.
After finishing a degree in 2018 (that I still haven't used) I began to travel with a camera and create travel videos. Those videos sucked. But my passion for cinematic visuals and storytelling was born.
That passion gave me some exciting opportunities working for tourism boards, hotels and resorts across Australia and the South Pacific. Those years chasing light across reefs, coastlines and open skies shaped everything. In 2022, I unexpectedly shot my first wedding aboard a sailboat, and when I finished that film I knew this was something special. But something had to change.
I never connected with the slow-paced, overly formal wedding films that all seemed to follow the same script. I wanted something bold, honest and full of energy. Every couple is different, and their film should be too. That's why I don't follow a formula. I craft each film to feel like you. Real, intentional, and built to last.
I got into this for the craft. I stayed for the couples. It's an honour to be trusted with your story, and to create something that lets you relive it, not just now, but for decades to come.

To give each couple the time, care and attention their day deserves, Finley Films takes on no more than twenty weddings each year.

FAQ'S
Do you travel for weddings?
Absolutely. I'll travel anywhere in the world for the right wedding. Travel costs are added on top and will be outlined clearly in your proposal so there are no surprises. I also offer destination discounts for select locations — enquire to find out more.
How do we secure our date?
A 50% deposit is required to lock in your date, with the remaining balance due one month before your wedding. Once that's in, you're confirmed and we get to work.
How do you make the film feel natural and not stiff?
I blend into the background. I'm not there to choreograph your day, I'm there to document it, my approach is calm and unobtrusive. Before the wedding we'll talk through the run of the day so I know where to be and when, which means on the day itself there's no hovering, no interrupting, no pulling you away from the people you love. I'll offer gentle guidance when it genuinely helps, but the moments that end up meaning the most are always the ones that just happen. My job is to be ready for them.
How long until we receive our film?
Your completed wedding film is delivered within 120 days. Every edit gets the time and attention it deserves. I don't rush the process, because the film you receive should feel as good as the day itself.
Do you offer custom packages?
Yes. If you have something specific in mind that doesn't fit neatly into a collection, reach out anyway. I'm open to discussing what works for your day.
